This is a classic Warehouse body knitted on an old-fashioned low-gauge knitting machine, which is said to be "rareer than a hanging knitting machine."
This fabric is called shadow border and is knitted with uneven yarn count 12 to create a unique shadow effect.Although it is plain, it has subtle unevenness that resembles horizontal stripes.
